Hermes Agent just got a free update that makes it the most powerful SEO tool I've ever used. And in this video, I'm going to show you exactly how to use it to rank on Google and AI search engines completely hands off. Here's what this means for you. Instead of spending hours on keyword research, writing blog posts, building content calendars, Hermes Agent does all of it for you automatically in the background whilst you do something else.

And I'm going to show you the new goals feature, which I'll get into in a second and how it lets you give Hermes one SEO task. It just goes off and finishes it. No checking. It just runs autonomously in the background.

I'm also going to show you the swarm mode, which is like having a full SEO agency of AI agents all working on your SEO at the same time. You can have 12 agents, one goal, all running for free. And I'll show you the exact setup I used to rank for competitive keywords, which you can see ranking later. Let's get into it today.

I want to show you how to turn Hermes Agent into the most powerful SEO agent I've ever seen. And there are some really powerful updates have just been released for Hermes Agent that make this 10 times better for SEO specifically. Let me show you exactly how this works. Now, if you haven't set this up before, you can just follow the instructions on the Hermes GitHub.

It's completely free to use and set up. And then once you've done that, you'll see it running in your terminal. Now, this is what I'm about to show you is all based on what I've tested previously, based on what's working for this website. This one, this one and this one too, right?

It's a proven repeatable process that I've used for SEO to grow these sites with AI SEO and to generate traffic and rankings from Google and also rank inside AI search engines too. Here's two different examples. So you can see me ranking for this keyword right here and it's sending traffic straight to our website. And also the same here, you can see us ranking multiple times for that keyword on the first page of Google.

So it works inside AI search engines and also inside Google directly too. So the old way of using chat GPT or for example, Claude for SEO is that you go in, you start asking questions, blah, blah, blah. I wouldn't recommend that. Hermes is way more powerful now.

And what I mean by that is you can basically give this agent an autonomous task and it will just go off, right? And the way that this happens is with a brand new update that literally just dropped is called goals. So if you type in forward slash goal here, you can set up a goal for the agent to work across to start generating, for example, SEO content or keyword strategies or content. And it creates an autonomous loop where this goal has to be achieved.

And there's an AI judge that will actually look at what's being done and judge whether the goal has been achieved or not. Now, this is based on something called persistent goals and it's Hermes take on something that was pretty popular called route loop. And so what this means essentially is that you can give it a goal and I'll show you exactly how this works in a second. You can give Hermes agent a goal and it has 20 turns to complete it with a judge that actually checks whether it's been done or not.

And the loop continues until the judge says this has been done. So let me show you how that works in a second. So here's an example. We could say, OK, write five SEO blog posts about AI automation and save them as files, right?

Now, if we go over here and we type forward slash goal, we just have to select goal, right? So forward slash goal, scroll down, make sure it's selected and then you're going to type in the prompt that you have. Now, this could also be, for example, anything marketing related. So it could be like build a landing page and then publish it to Netlify.

It could be a draft to full email sequence for my audience. And you'll see that it initializes the agent here to go off and start doing the work. And then it's going to use a term based method to start achieving this goal. So, for example, if you have big SEO goals, like maybe, for example, it's building a new website, generating 90 days worth of blog, creating a whole content calendar for the next three months.

You can do all of that using this goal based process inside Hermes agent. And it's very good at being autonomous and just going off and doing stuff, right? Let me show you another example whilst this is running in the back. So here's a full website that she generated using this method.

And you can see, for example, we have a competitor gap analysis, which actually looks at our website versus other people's and analyzes the gaps. We have a content calendar, a brief template, keyword clusters. And this was all generated in five minutes using the goals method that we're working on right now, right? So it can create local files, plan them into a folder, even plan out the type of content you're going to create in the site architecture.

And then it will generate these markdown files using the AI agent to store them locally and start planning out the whole process. Now, this is way more in depth than just going into Claude and saying, hey, build me a website, right? This is a hundred times better. It's not even comparable at this point.

It's planning out every single element and aspect of your website using this process to the point where it's even planning out, for example, how it's going to structure the URLs, the category taxonomy, right? And the way that will be structured as keyword clusters, the internal linking depth rules, right? It goes very, very deep, even the navigation and the structure of the website. By the way, this is all in markdown.

If you ever need to check the markdown files yourself that an AI agent has written, you can go to markdown live preview, paste this in, and you'll see that it's actually very nicely structured and easy to read once you translate the markdown file into something like this, right? And so the AI agent just autonomously went off and did that whilst I was doing something else. Now you can see here that it's beginning to create these files locally and writing the files locally for our SEO blog posts. Another thing that we can do whilst it's working on the goal here is we can also use Hermes in a completely different way, right?

And that is using something called Hermes Workspace. Now Hermes Workspace has something called swarm mode, and this basically allows multiple Hermes agents to work in parallel to go off and create whatever project we want to achieve that goal. Now, if you want to set this up, again, this is a free open source project that runs directly with your Hermes agent. So you can set it up like so.

You can see it's enabling that right now. And then once that's done, that's going to be running on a local host like you see here. And the cool thing about this as well is that you can chat to it in a much nicer user interface. So if you compare this versus, say, the terminal UI, which one is nicer?

Obviously, it's UI inside Hermes Workspace. But the biggest and most powerful version of this is something called swarm, right? Which allows you to create a swarm of agents that work towards one task. Before we get onto that, something else that you can do is actually create a Kanban board for your Hermes agent.

You can add new tasks here, put it in the to-do list or in the progress section, and this will allow your agents to work through tasks. So if you're using this for AI SEO, for example, it could be like create a new article, re-optimize the old one, deploy this landing page, etc. Now, if you go to the swarm section here, you've got this whole orchestration mission control dashboard, where you can give your agents a task and they'll actually go off and start working on it. So you can see, for example, we have an office of Hermes agents.

Each one of these is an individual setup. They're all working for me autonomously in the background on this particular task that we've given it. So it's a swarm of agents, a whole team of AI agents that can work harder, smarter than me. And they can work in the background while I go off and do something else.

Now, for those boring SEO tasks that are very repetitive, this is a beautiful thing to set up. So if we go inside here, we can check what's our active swarm. And we can also see what's been done so far, right? So you can see I was working on setting up a swarm of AI agents working on keyword research, SEO blog, etc.

And you can see that this foundation agent here started his work in his magic for it. The same with the triage agent, right? This is working on a task. It'll actually tell you once it's done, too.

So we can talk to it directly or we can orchestrate all of them at the top using the swarm feature here. And all we do is we describe a mission, right? So, for example, that could be create more blog posts, generate more content, etc. Now, if I wanted to inspect what it's been doing locally, I mean, for example, it's built out this link building strategy for us.

I can just open this file, grab the markdown like you can see here. And then if we go inside this preview, we can see that it's actually planned out where it's going to get all of its backlinks from. So it's like, OK, here's a bunch of websites you should probably submit your tool to. Here's a bunch of Reddit communities that you should be focused on.

Here's a bunch of Discord and Slack communities, etc., right? Even forum Q&A sites. And here's a bunch of PR opportunities that you could go after for link building, too, right? So you see how step by step it's created a whole team of agents.

Bear in mind, that was just one single task from one single agent. It's got a whole swarm of them, right? You've got a team of like 12 agents working together inside one office. Going off and automating AI SEO for us.

So anything SEO related, you can automate with this. And you can see here, it's now beginning to write out the blog posts and deploy them for us, which is awesome. If you ever want to stop the goal that it's working on, you can interrupt it with Command and C. And then if you open this back up, we can check what Hermes is doing.

Now, the other cool thing about this as well is that Hermes can actually create content and deploy it for us, right? So if I'm like, OK, write plus deploy a new blog post about AI automation. Because it's linked to Netlify, which is where I host a lot of my AI generated websites, for example, like this one. It can actually create content directly from the terminal with the skills that I've trained on in terms of how to create content.

And then it can deploy it to Netlify for us. Now, the way that you do that is you can go to Netlify. If you need to add a new project, you can over here. So if you want to add a new website, you can.

You can also add new custom domains. So you can set up a new domain for any website that you want to create. And then over here, you can grab a personal access token. Now, what that essentially means is with your personal access token, if you give that to any agent, including Hermes, it can then deploy content directly to Netlify to any of the domains that you find and want to set up, right?

And so it can manage all our websites in one place. It can update them, deploy them. It can create content for them based on any keyword that I give it. And it's very, very hands off.

You can even, for example, schedule tasks related to SEO day to day inside Hermes, too. So, for example, here, if we say, OK, schedule a task to find five new AI agent related keywords each day, it will go off and set that up. Now, another thing that you can use is something called Aon UI, right? Now, Aon UI links to all of your AI agents.

You can manage them in one place, for example, like OpenClaw or anything else. And that includes Hermes agent, right? Now, if you go to the schedule task section, again, this is another free open source project. You can go to new task here and you can say, OK, create new SEO content for me each day using Hermes agent.

Deploy it to Netlify. You type in the prompt here. You enter the task so you can remember it last time. And if you ever need to delete it, just go to your schedule task and then you can manage them from one place.
